Suicide rates are down globally by 40% according to an analysis published in The Lancet Public Health. In North America the rates are up 7%. Men experienced more successful attempts, especially by firearms, but women attempted suicide more frequently. Mean population BMI (Body Mass Index) declined between 2022 and 2023. The most notable decline was noted in the South which aligned with the high GLP-1 dispensing.
