I left out one of the best tools for screening your own colon cancer.  Look at your bowel movement.             

Has it changed in size, color, consistency/shape? Watch for blood, dark or true red.  Very important. I am not talking about in one day, but over a week or more, talk to your HCP (Health Care Provider)  

Also remind your HCP to check do a  rectal exam (where they test the stool during the exam) or a home screening stool test once per year.  These things are really important.  Sometimes reminders can save your life.
